Sunday, 25 July
This morning after enjoying breakfast at your hotel take a walk out along the Champs Elysees and witness the incredible operation that is the Tour de France preparing for the arrival of the race this afternoon. From our hotel it’s an easy walk along the route and up the slight gradient of the famous boulevard towards the Arc de Triomphe, maybe stopping for a morning coffee along the way. Today’s final stage is normally a procession until the entrance onto the Champs-Elysees where the racing really starts. Riders traditionally chat, celebrate the final stage, pose for photographs, drink Champagne… sometimes they even dress-up, swap bikes and generally horse around. Once the race gets into Paris, the Yellow jersey and his team lead the peloton onto the Champs-Elysees for what is a basically a big criterium in the centre of the French Capital.
Late this morning you will be met by a Bikestyle representative who will accompany you on the short walk from your hotel to today’s special VIP package in the Triomphe area right on the Champs Elysees before the finish line. A Bikestyle staff member will be on hand throughout the afternoon to assist you in any way possible. Your package will include:
-Reserved seating in the Triomphe area on the Champs Elysees for a great view of the race
-A personal welcome by Tour de France hostesses
-A buffet lunch with cocktails served throughout the afternoon
-Champagne served at the race finish to toast the yellow jersey
-A VIP Tour de France gift
After the race it’s a tradition for all the riders to do a lap of honor and you’ll be right there to cheer on and applaud your favourite riders as they ride slowly past. Bring along your camera and autograph book just in case one of your favourite riders happens to stop and say hello. After all the festivities are over we’ll accompany you back to your hotel where the rest of the evening is free for you to explore the delights of Paris. It’s a short walk from your hotel to the River Seine so why not finish the day off in style with a dinner cruise, or maybe a dinner at one of the two restaurants in the Eiffel Tower with fabulous views over Paris (bookings essential!).
