Highlights
A great spectator package taking in the final two stages of the 2012 Tour de France, the Bonneval – Chartres time trial and the final stage in Paris. Take in the excitment of the penultimate individual time trial stage and experience the Tour de France as a VIP in the Tribune Triomphe area in Paris. The Triomphe is a special area on the Champs Elysees situated in between Place de la Concorde and the finish line. Not to be confused with the cheaper grandstand only options such as Grand Palais, the Triomphe is a truly special experience with great food, champagne and wine served in a covered marquee with a great view of the race throughout the afternoon. A once in a lifetime experience.

Friday, 20 July, 2012: Arrival in Paris

Arrive in Paris today at your leisure and make your way to our comfortable 4 star hotel in the popular Montparnasse area on the left bank of Paris. The hotel is a short walk from the Gare Montparnasse rail station for an easy arrival.

Once settled in Paris it is yours to explore the best of Paris. Notre Dame cathedral, Luxembourg Gardens and the high class shops of Boulevard St Germain are an easy walk from your hotel.

Tonight there is so much to see and do so why not take in a show at the Moulin Rouge or the Lido, or eat in one of the historic brasseries of Montparnasse.

Overnight: Paris

Saturday, 21 July, 2012: Off to the Time Trial

This morning after enjoying breakfast at your hotel we will walk the short distance to Gare Montparnasse for our train to Chartres, one hour from Paris, to see the riders arrive at the finish of today’s individual time trial.

As we arrive directly in to the historic centre of Chartres there will be time for you to take a walk through the town and visit the famous cathedral, considered to be the finest Gothic cathedral in Europe and well worth a visit. The massive spires of the cathedral dominate the surrounding countryside and will be visible to the riders today from many miles away as they race the 52kms from Bonneval to Chartres. You’ll be able to see the riders arrive throughout the afternoon in Chartres and see the special TT machines speed by along different parts of the course.

Once the final rider, the yellow jersey wearer from the previous day arrives we’ll know who the likely winner of the 2012 Tour de France is and hopefully it will be a big surprise as it was on the same stage in 2011!

At the end of today’s stage we’ll take the train back to Paris where you can enjoy dinner at one of the restaurants in the Montparnasse area. Or if you prefer stay on and dine in Chartres, returning to Paris later in the evening.

Overnight: Paris
Meals: Breakfast

Sunday, 22 July, 2012: Champs Elysees in Style

Today is the final day of the 2012 Tour de France. Late this morning along with your Bikestyle representative you will travel from our hotel to the Champs Elysees to take up our position in the Triomphe area to witness the arrival of the race in style. Your package will include:

-Reserved seating in the Triomphe area on the Champs Elysees
-A personal welcome by Tour de France hostesses
-A buffet lunch with cocktails served throughout the afternoon
-Champagne served at the race finish to toast the yellow jersey
-A VIP Tour de France gift

Today’s final stage is normally a procession until the entrance onto the Champs-Elysees where the racing really starts. Riders traditionally chat, celebrate the final stage, pose for photographs, drink Champagne… sometimes they even dress-up, swap bikes and generally horse around. Once the race gets into Paris, the Yellow jersey and his team lead the peloton onto the Champs-Elysees for what is a basically a big criterium in the centre of the French Capital.

After the race it’s a tradition for all the riders to do a lap of honor and you’ll be right there to cheer on and applaud your favourite riders as they ride slowly past. Bring along your camera and autograph book just in case one of your favourite riders happens to stop and say hello. After all the festivities are over the rest of the evening is free for you to explore the delights of Paris.

Overnight: Paris

Monday, 23 July, 2012: Au Revoir

It is farewell to Paris today as your VIP package ends this morning. If you’d like to spend more time in this magical city why not extend with extra nights at our hotel.
