Also situated directly in front of our hotel is the Adelaide City Council Tour Village. This is where the teams make their base for the week. It is a hive of activity. Each night be sure to watch the genius of the mechanics at work, catch a glimpse of the riders as they finish for the day (don’t forget your autograph book!), catch-up on all the race results, buy your official race merchandise and take a look at the trade displays.
With teams returning each day to the Hilton Adelaide, the Village is a focal point for the event incorporating the following aspects:
- The team mechanics’ preparation area
- A base for the team support cars
- Event update information
- Refreshment areas
- The idea behind the Village is to provide a hub for the event and the opportunity for enthusiasts and novices alike to feel some firsthand involvement in the event.

Hi Lawrie,
TDU was great! In some aspects I enjoyed it more than TdF.
I am already trying to line up some of the TdF riders for the TDU 2011, esp as I’ve already been given the nod for next year from my boss at home! Ha ha!
Thanks for the effort you all put in, it shows in the way things went so smoothly during the week. Steve and John esp went out of their way to make it such an enjoyable week, what a godsend all that local knowledge is! Thanks and see you in 2011.

Thanks for a great week; your team’s support and no fuss attitude was exceptional.
A totally enjoyable week in every respect which I hope I can repeat in Adelaide in years to come;
plus learning a few things to improve my cycling which was a bonus. Yes I was going to let the dust settle a little before I asked if there were any ok photos to download!
